Haiti Inflation Slows to 18.9%

The Bank of the Republic of Haiti, marking its 47th anniversary, reported annual inflation easing to 18.9% in June 2026, down from 32.2% in October 2025. The bank cited a stable exchange rate for more than two years and about US$1.9 billion in reserves, roughly eight months of imports.

Monetary stabilization amid a security and governance crisis is a rare positive marker, and the reserve cushion buys the authorities time.
